About The Far East India Yoga journey

This is a journey like no other, a cultural exploration in the heart and soul of East India.

Travelling in a well organised group, the aim of our journey is to take you on an adventure to some of the least visited, culturally and spiritually rich areas of the North East India. This is also a slower paced journey with us spending more time in each area to immerse ourselves completely. Less rushing and more time to slow down practice yoga and enjoy the towns we visit.

Tour Highlights – 3 Main regions – West Bengal – Odisha – Varanasi – Delhi

Kolkata – The Soul of West Bengal

Kolkata, the cultural heart of West Bengal, pulses with history, spirit, and creativity. Known as the “City of Joy,” it is a place where the sacred and the everyday intertwine, where quiet temples and stand alongside colonial architecture, bustling markets, and streets alive with poetry, music, and art.

Odisha – The Land of the Sun Temple

Nestled along the eastern coastline of India, the state of Odisha (formerly Orissa) is a land where spirituality, art, and natural beauty flow together in harmony. Unlike the more well-trodden paths of India’s northern circuits, Odisha offers a quieter, more soulful journey—perfect for seekers, yogis, and travellers drawn to deeper connection.

Darjeeling – Himalaya – Delhi

We continue on our path next to the mighty foothills of the Himalaya, to the famous Tea making plantations of Darjeeling, home to the former British Raj.  After feeling rejuvenated with the mountain air,  we head back south to the Holy City of Varanasi on the Ganges River.  We will be finish our incredible journey in India’s capital of Delhi

About our Yoga Teacher – Ms Bianca Machliss

With over 30 years of experience in yoga, Ms Bianca Machliss has dedicated her working life to teaching, mentoring, and building a vibrant community through Yoga Synergy. Such a successful, respected and well known brand, with its practice rooted in both tradition and innovation. Her journey began at the ripe age of 19 with a transformative trip to India, which opened a new path for her. Immersed in the incredible Indian culture and spirit of yoga, she discovered not just a practice but a passion. Yoga since then has become Bianca’s life work, and inner sanctuary, a source of strength, peace, and profound joy.

Since 1999, she has been training yoga teachers, initially through a traditional three-year apprenticeship. In 2014, we introduced our 200-hour training, and in 2020 expanded to offer an online format, making our teachings accessible globally.

Today, Bianca teaches and manages at Yoga Synergy Newtown, leads teacher trainings and retreats, and also teaches at Elixir Health Club, Bondi. She also works at Waverley Waverley College, sharing yoga with both students and staff.

A land of staggering natural beauty, cultural complexities, rolling green rice paddies, and hill-tribe villages, Vietnam is both exotic and compelling and the perfect destination for Yoga & Wellness

We start in the northern city of Hanoi, known for its centuries-old architecture and rich Asian, Chinese, and French influences.

Next, we embark on a private Yoga & sightseeing cruise overlooking the magnificent UNESCO World Heritage site of Halong Bay.

Further on, prepare to be mesmerised in the heart of Zen Buddhism with a stay at a luxury hotel, built to look like a 13th-century Buddhist monastery and Chinese imperial palace.

After feeling spiritually rejuvenated, we head to the outskirts of the French colonial town of Hoi Ann and stay at a tranquil rural village
Yoga retreat.

Your mornings will be spent practising Yoga, enjoying spa and massage treatments, whilst overlooking the swaying palm trees and green rice paddies.

Our journey ends south in the capital of Saigon, known also as Ho Chi Minh City for more historical sightseeing and some incredible food experiences which Vietnam is famous for
